ASSESSMENT WITH REPORT
(* Gr R - 7 beskikbaar in Afrikaans)
A single one-hour test covers most of the outcomes and subjects covered in a first and second language, maths, natural sciences, and social sciences. Multiple-choice questions test whether the learner can recognize material and respond to cues. Written answers check the ability of the learner to express himself or herself and use language freely.
The aim of these assessments is to help parents benchmark home-schooled learners’ progress against the CAPS national curriculum.
There is a test for each Phase: Foundation Phase (Grades 1 – 3), Intermediate Phase (Grades 4 – 6), Grade 7, and Grades 8/9. By including questions for more than one grade in each test, it can be identified where work is falling behind or is ahead of requirements.
These tests are not intended to be an in-depth test of knowledge and abilities, as would be found in end-of-year exams. Rather, they “skip lightly” over the curriculum, identifying whether the most important aspects have been dealt with.

Testimonial
"Dr. Holman’s assessments were very helpful documents in allowing us to register our children at school after a period of homeschooling. We required the reports mid-year and all other reporting options were either very lengthy or expensive. The assessment allowed us to show ability in a variety of subjects and was accepted by the Education Department to facilitate successful admissions.
Very grateful to have had this option.
Kind regards
Karin"
